The
Intelligent Universe
(Ray Kurzweil, 2002)
Within
25 years, we'll reverse-engineer the brain and go on to develop super-intelligence. Extrapolating the exponential growth of computational
capacity (a factor of at least 1000 per decade), we'll expand inward to the
fine forces, such as strings and quarks, and outward. Assuming we could
overcome the speed of light limitation, within 300 years we would saturate the
whole universe with our intelligence.

logarithmic explosion of technology, driven by Molecular Nanotechnology and advanced
AI, will surely enable the
Singularity in much less than 100
years. (Current
estimates cluster around 2030!) We need more time... but time and progress waits for no one.
No
human can guess, let alone predict
what the 'other
side' of the Singularity will be like. With molecular and atomic control of matter,
and hyper-fast molecular computer systems enhancing our intelligence, 'Humans'
will transcend our
biology. Once
we arbitrarily and dynamically define
ourselves, both physically and intellectually, we step through the
Singularity! I want to take that step.. will you
join me?
My
tiny contribution to the survival and transformation of our species is this
site.... to introduce you to the concept of the Singularity & Transhumanism.
There
is a long and arduous journey between the dawn of sentience and the security of
post-humanity.
Though
the journey is now short in years, we still have many treacherous
obstacles to overcome. My wish to us all is that we make it to the

Why
'allow' the Singularity?
Well,
it's inevitable... we can't stop
it. If humans survive at all, the singularity
is going to happen.
Even
if we had a choice... the Singularity is
our only hope for survival. Existential
risks abound, and life itself is tenuous.
