Lewis died 28 Jun 1911 in Plymouth, Marshall Co., Indiana, at 56 years of age. * * * * * Lewis Anderson Beagles obituary from the July 6, 1911 Plymouth (Indiana) Republican newspaper, page8, column 5: Anderson Beagles Anderson Beagles died at his home Wednesday at eleven p.m. Mr. Beagles had been gradually declining in health during the past four years and confined to the house for the last three weeks. He was born near Tyner in Polk township and had resided in Marshall county during the entire fifty-six years of his life. For the last five or six years his home has been in this city and he has been the proprietor of a dray and transfer line. Besides a wife, the deceased leaves seven children. They are: Jesse of Laporte, Raymond E. of Tondleton, Oregon; Mrs. Jennie Jamison of Plymouth, Walter of South Bend, Daniel of Plymouth, Mrs. Bertha Lee of Plymouth and Eugene of this city. The funeral services will be held at the family residence on East Laporte street at two p.m. Saturday. Interment at Oak Hill cmetery. (end of obituary) * * * * *

* * * * * Lewis Anderson Beagles obituary from the Plymouth (Indiana) Democrat, July 6, 1911, page 4, column 7: Obituary Lewis Anderson Beagles, oldest son of Robert and Phoebe Beagles, was born in Polk township, Marshall county, June 21, 1855, and departed this life at his home on east Laporte street in Plymouth, June 28, 1911, age 56 years, 8 days. Mr. Beagles grew to manhood in Marshall County, and with the exception of a few years in the West, lived in and about Tyner and from early life was highly esteemed and was an honest, upright citizen. He was united in marriage to Miss Luella Stanley, also of Polk townshp, in 1875. To this union were born eight children; seven remain to mourn the loss of father; 5 sons, Jessie V. of Laporte; Ray E. of Pendelton, Oregon, Walter E. of South Bend; Dan W. of Plymouth and Eugene S., yet at home. Two daughters, Mrs. George Jameson and Mrs. Clarence Lee, both of Plymouth. "Anderson" as he was always called, was an able teamster. From early life he was a man of great strength and no task was too hard for him to undertake. The lumber dealers of early days enjoyed his labor on account of his great ability to handle heavy timbers. About nine years ago he moved to Plymouth and soon after obtained a dray and transfer line. The public soon learned to know him for his promptness and courteous dealing, his word could always be relied upon. Thus he soon became one of the leading draymen of the city. He continued in his capacity until the end of life. He was a man that took great pride in keeping his promises sacred and in so doing won the confidence of all he had dealings with. With his companion he sought Christ and became a member of the M. E. Church at Tyner a number of years ago and was a staunch beliver in the Christian faith until the end. At 40 years of age Lewis became the father of Eugene Stanley BEAGLES in Tyner, Marshall Co., Indiana, 1 Dec 1895. Later in his life, Eugene Stanley Beagles changed his name to Eugene Stanley.
