DEATH SUMMONS M. WALTER RENFRO Springfield Resident Dies at Home in South First Street Decedent Suffered from Complication of Diseases -- was 47 years old -- Member of Modern Woodmen

Renfro -- Died, at 5 o'clock Sunday, August 8, 1909 at the residence, 1701 South First Street, of a complication of diseases, M. Walter Renfro, at the age of 47 years and 4 months. Funeral arrangements will be made later. Decedent is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie Renfro: 4 sons, Frank, Walter, Albert, and Willis: one daughter, Lilla: one sister, Mrs. Alice Enos of this city, and his mother, Mrs. John Doerfler of Nilwood, Illinois. Mr. Renfro was a member of Camp 114 Modern Woodmen of America. Mr. Renfro was a prominent contractor and builder and has lived in this city all his life. His father was Frank Renfro a well-known stock dealer who resided east of the city. His body was interred 10 Aug 1909 in Springfield, Sangamon Co., Illinois.

RENFRO-GORMAN -- In the priest's parlor of the Church of the Immaculate Conception at 10 o'clock yesterday morning Mr. Wallace M. Renfro was united in marriage to Miss Nellie Gorman, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Father Brady. The couple were attended by Mr. Thomas Muldoon and Miss Molly Gorman a sister of the bride. The bride is a handsome and accomplished young lady, a daughter of one of our most respected citizens, and the groom is to be congratulated for his wise selection. The groom is one of our most prominent young businessmen, is engaged in the grocery business on East Washinging Street and is of sterling worth. After the ceremony they were driven to the C & A depot, in one of Mr. John Foster's handsome rigs, by Mr. Will Clark, where they departed on the noon train for Chicago and other northern points, to visit several weeks before returning to this city. They will immediately go to housekeeping on East Washington Street upon arriving home. The MONITOR joins with their many friends in wishing them a pleasant voyage on the matrimonial sea.

At another time, he was a carpenter, a trade he probably learned from his father-in-law, Thomas Gorman. Two houses in Springfield, Illinois, that he built are still standing in 2003. One is at the southwest corner of Thirteenth and Kansas streets, and the other is at the southwest corner of First and Laurel streets. * * * * * *

At 20 years of age Moses became the father of Lilla Estella RENFRO in Springfield, Sangamon, Illinois, 26 Feb 1883. At 31 years of age Moses became the father of Walter Matthew RENFRO in Springfield, Sangamon Co., Illinois, 29 Dec 1893. At 33 years of age Moses became the father of Albert RENFRO 27 Aug 1895. At 35 years of age Moses became the father of Thomas Willis RENFRO 21 Jun 1897.

At 28 years of age Lilla became the mother of James Arthur DYSON 12 Jul 1911. At 29 years of age Lilla became the mother of Dorothy Eleanor DYSON in Springfield, Sangamon, Illinois, 20 Feb 1913.
