Hodges became the father of Hodges COUNCIL bef 1668. Hodges became the father of Hardy COUNCIL in IsleofWightCo., Isle of Wight, Virginia, 1678. He made a will in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, 9 Aug 1699. The book entitled Virginia Wills and Administrations shows Hodges Council will probated in 1699.

* * * * * Hodges Council came to Virginia, about the time of Cromwell's death in 1658. Hodges Council was a son of John Council and his wife Elizabeth Drake Council of Devonshire, England. Hodges had a brother, Willis Council, who, according to Scotth Historians, was appointed a Judge by Cromwell and assigned to Glasgow, Scotland. Cromwell took all of King Charles' Judges off the bench, and put men on that were of proven honesty. For many years the name of Willis Council has been a favorite, like James, John &Jesse.
