We're rebuilding this page, but here's a photo of a gathering of friends in March 2003. The plywood floor shown is now actually wide pine boards, and a little more of the cabinetry is completed since the photo. The slate base for the woodstove at right is perfectly flush with the floor (yay, me!), and the indestructible oak stairs go on the long list of things I never thought I knew how to do, along with the giant speakers hidden in the walls, showing only as fabric squares above the bookshelves....

Here's an outside photo from the backyard, showing the curved walls, which made building a curved roof a real challenge. Wish I had gotten a little further than "Intro to Geometry" in my math education! More soon!

Here's our new door, solid oak, in several views. The hinges, in an oak motif, were made by blacksmith Leigh Morrell. That's how you hold up 250 pounds of door! The curved center-line will be expanded into a carving of a tree, with the window as a moon behind branches.

Another excuse to show off Branwen...but here you can see the new and improved pine walls and floor!

Kitty-cat Salem, modeling the bathroom cabinetry. All of the house's cabinets are from scratch, which helps explain why I've barely started finishing off the kitchen!

The newest part is the porch, with clear polycarbonate roof, and the hot-tub, which gets a huge amount of use! Branwen helped a lot with the porch. The woodpile is gone now, and soon, I'd like to create a flatter, nicely grassed area right about there for outdoor cooking. Earth-oven, barbecue, fire-pit, bean-hole bean hole, lawn furniture for the three warm days a year that don't have black-flies...
