Operation New Home 2008!
Habitat for Humanity is looking for community members and other volunteers to help build its next home in Ellensburg! In April we began construction on a home for the Medina family. Gloria Medina and her two children have been living in Ellensburg for 15 years. She works at the local hospital and volunteers her time at the Habitat for Humanity Ellensburg Area office. "I have lived and worked in Ellensburg for 15 years and I feel I have nothing. Everyone should have something of their own," said Gloria.
If you or someone you know would be interested in volunteering their time while making a difference in your community and a difference in the lives of the Medina family, this is a great opportunity!
Whether you can offer 5 minutes, 5 hours, or 5 days of your time, every minute is valuable to each partner family. If you are unable to donate time and still wish to help, there are ways to donate goods and services as well. Contact the Ellensburg Habitat for Humanity office and ask to be added to the volunteer distribution e-mail list. We will e-mail you whenever a volunteer opportunity is available. If you have a group of people interested in volunteering together, you can also make arrangements for a team build day.

Working together, we can build it!
About Ellensburg HfH
Ellensburg's HfH is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.
Volunteers
Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - sweat equity - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.
