Wedding Rental Information
The First United Methodist Church of Ellensburg invites the local community to rent our facilities to use with weddings and other special occasions.
Our rental fees include the use of the church sanctuary, the services of our wedding coordinator & custodian, the use of our candelabras, aisle runner, pew candelabras, & kneeling cushions, and set up.
Reception Services
All reception services include the use of tables, chairs, tablecloths, silver, dishes, set up, and service - provided by the United Methodist Women.
Fellowship Hall fee is additional (see above). The couple provides candles, candies, punch, cake, tea, coffee, mints, nuts, decorations, etc.
Reminders
- This is a no smoking & alcohol-free church. Alcohol is not allowed on the premises! Please remind your wedding party of this also.
- Bring payment of wedding fees to the church the day of the rehearsal. Please separate church fees from the minister's fee.
- Bring marriage license to the church prior to or on the day of the rehearsal.
Candles and Decorations
Only dripless candles should be used.
- Pew Candelabras: Ten (10) 6-inch or 8-inch tapers.
- Brass Candelabras: Eighteen (18) 8-inch or 10-inch tapers.
- Antique Candelabras: Fourteen (14) 8-inch or 10-inch tapers.
- Unity Candles: Three (3) tapers of desired height or two, (2) tapers plus one fat candle at least the same height or taller than the tapers.
All decoration plans need to be discussed with the wedding coordinator for prior approval.
- Arrange a time with the wedding coordinator to open the church for decorating by the florist, decorator, or wedding party.
- Scotch tape should be used sparingly.
- The use of any heavy duty tape (duct tape etc.) that could remove the stain from wood or any staples, nails, or tacks can only be used with prior approval.
Miscellaneous
- Advise all wedding participants to arrive 15 minutes prior to when you really need them to ensure promptness.
- Your attendants, parents, grandparents, guest-book/gift table attendants, candle-lighters, flower girl/ringer bearer, musicians, and any other members of the wedding party should be present at the rehearsal.
- The videographer may also want to attend the rehearsal to adjust video equipment to the lighting in the church.
