Dear Friend,
When
my family and I came to Ellensburg, we had the same concerns many have when they
come to a point of change in their life. Will we like the area? Will we find a
nice neighborhood? What will the schools be like? Where do we shop? Will we make
new friends as good as our old friends? There were so many important decisions
that had to be made so quickly.
Because
we came to Ellensburg to join a church, we never had the difficult decision of
finding a new church - or for many, deciding if church was going to be a part of
our life. Yet, you may be reading this because your wondering if our church, or
any church, is for you.
You
may be new in the community and looking for a place to connect. You may have
lived here many years and are just now feeling a need to become established in a
church family. You may have gone to church for a time in your life and now have
drifted away for no clear reason.
Some
of you may not be sure who God is, or wonder if there is a God at all. I want
you to know that whatever situation you find yourself in - from the committed
Christian to the honest seeker of God - First Presbyterian can be a warm and
open place for you.
I
hope the material on our web site will help you acquaint yourself with the
ministries, services, and activities of our church. But I hope even more that
you will see us not simply as a place of programs and activity, but as a family
who are gathered to love, serve, care, and grow in the grace of our Lord, Jesus
Christ!
