Rust is by no means absent from this car, but it is not nearly so bad as one might expect for a 38-year-old Herald! The spare tire well is the worst, although the front footwells are not very good, either. Note that this is the earlier style of boot floor pressing, with the integral spare tire well.

There is also some minor rust-through in the trunk floor as it curves up over the differential and rear axle area, and there are yet other small pinhole rust areas in other parts of the car. But the chassis appears relatively sound throughout, with possibly just a couple of minor holes in outriggers. Exterior sheet metal also seems to be pretty sound throughout.
