title: Distant Yawl

(see the full-size close-up below)

This is a cropped 35mm telephoto shot seen earlier in its linear entirety titled Dawn Treader. It was a telephoto shot I made one summer evening at the jetties near Panama City, Florida. What intrigued me was the pointillist effect of the earlier photo. Here, I have scanned the enlargement of the central subject to a high degree of dots per inch so that it now can be enlarged on its own to a maximum 24x14.6 inches while retaining its full color. At this enlargement it shows in beautiful detail each grain of color that comprises this photograph.

As in all pointillist paintings, viewed from afar it again becomes the soft-hued, soft-textured scene of reality. For viewers who enjoy this technique, the soft-hued Distant Yawl demonstrates it nicely.
