title: In The Misty Moonlight

(see the full-size close-up below)

A scene I was privileged to see many times when I over-nighted at the tiny marina beside the bay at St. Andrews State Park in the Florida Panhandle. On this evening a fog was rolling in and gradually obscuring the lights usually reflecting across the bay. Here, Nomad is shown with her anchor light on and the whole world becalmed. It is close to midnight and in the warm tropical night cicadas sang their songs and any disturbance in the still waters lit up with the blue-green glow of millions of marine organisms. On occasion when we anchored around the point outside in deeper water and went for a swim in the extremely warm waters, our presence made the water explode in miniature rockets of glowing color. Underwater was like swimming through the solar system of eternally black space.
