title: Wet Leaves

(see the full-size close-up below)

Once again this is largely a straight photograph that required nothing more than to be scanned into a high resolution graphic for maximum enlargement. Initially it was a cold fall day in north Florida and a fellow photographer joined me to record some of the moderate leaf changes we have here.

As luck would have it, Mother Nature had done her job well that fall and colorful specimens were all over the ground. While we were looking for pictorial subjects, it rained briefly. These leaves I found in a puddle beside the road. They were a mixture of many, interlaced by long pine needles.

I set the 35mm on a tripod over the puddle and shot several photographs. Later these were scanned into the computer for the graphic you see. The blue cast is due to a reflection of the blue skies that immediately followed the shower. The combination of brilliant fall colors, glistening in this abstract of colorful leaves always remind me of an artist’s oil color pallet after colors have been mixed and a canvas painted.
