The Election Illusion
By Q - November, 2008

The election of 2008 has just ended with Barack Obama the winner and our president elect. People are jumping for joy and dancing and I am receiving e-mails with statements saying “democracy” works and how the country can get back on track and rebuild. Many people around the country are ecstatic and think change is around the corner with the new president elect.

These e-mails are from intelligent and well-meaning people, however, it appears that human nature is truly consistent with our species not seeing, nor wanting to hear, the truth. The democracy touted by the establishment is an illusion (as is this reality) and is bought into by a gullible public who is more than willing to swallow the pabulum as easily as they do pizza and beer. Our nation was NOT created as a Democracy, and was never intended to be one by the Founding Fathers, who established a Constitutional Republic and whose basis is individual rights and freedom. Democracies are rule by the vocal minority and force everyone to accept agendas of that vocal minority. The following excerpt from an article by Ayn Rand eloquently explains the difference between the two:

“Contrary to popular rhetoric, America was founded, not as a “democracy,” but as a constitutional republic--a political structure under which the government is bound by a written constitution to the task of protecting individual rights. “Democracy” does not mean a system that holds public elections for government officials; it means a system in which a majority vote rules everything and everyone, and in which the individual thus has no rights. In a democracy, observed James Madison in The Federalist Papers, “there is nothing to check the inducements to sacrifice the weaker party or an obnoxious individual. Hence it is that such democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention [and] have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property.”

Even after reading the aforementioned description of the form of government within the United States of America, the vast majority of people will not acknowledge the facts and evidence presented, moreover, they will continue to believe that we are supposed to live in a democracy. The belief systems of people will override the facts and allow erroneous ideas to supercede common sense. People “Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands…” all of their life, yet fail to comprehend what they are saying when they do so. Not only do we no longer live in a republic, we no longer live in a democracy, which, in name, has been forced upon us by the powers that be. We do live in a fascist/socialist government where big business has bought off the majority of our “elected representatives” through the 40,000+ lobbyists who represent big business and not “We The People.”

Many prominent officials have acknowledged the fact that the real power of Government is not with our elected officials, nor us. It is, in fact, covert in nature as US Supreme Court Justice Felix Frankfurter once noted:

“The real rulers in Washington are invisible, and exercise power from behind the scenes.”

Many consider the President of the United States to be the most powerful person on earth, and perhaps rightfully so. Here is what President Woodrow Wilson had to say on the matter:

"Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men's views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the Field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it."

This real power is held by the privately owned central bank known as the Federal Reserve and with its co-conspirator the Military-Industrial Complex, which includes the oil, pharmaceutical and investment corporations of Wall St and their propoganda machine we know as the Media. This is the true power within this country and enacts governmental policy and law by buying the votes of members of congress through legal and illegal campaign contributions (Not including the criminal bribes). False information is spewed out by a corrupt media and is used to manipulate the population by feigning to be THE authority on all issues.

Part of the game of the powers that be are to divide and conquer the masses by offering this illusory governmental system known as a democracy, so real change never occurs. This is done through having two main political parties, Republicans and Democrats, which polarizes true action and reform. The powerful people in this country know that the herd mentality is always present in a society and they prey upon the knowledge that the majority of people will never search for truth, but accept the opinion of those in control without critical thinking ever occuring. The herd has been dumbed down to such an extent, that they are more apt to value beliefs over facts. They are manipulated in a Hegelian plot of subversiveness by evoking emotional responses to the problems that were purposefully created, in order to shove the preplanned solutions down their gaping, open mouths.

French sociologist, Gustave Le Bon once said, “The masses live by, and are ruled by subconscious and emotional thought process. The crowd has never thirsted for the truth. It turns aside from evidence that is not to its taste, preferring to glorify and to follow error, if the way of error appears attractive enough, and seduces them. Whoever can supply the crowd with attractive emotional illusions may easily become their master; and whoever attempts to destroy such firmly entrenched illusions of the crowd is almost sure to be rejected.”

The voter turnout for this November’s election was the largest in recent memory as voters took to the poles in an attempt to affect change. Unfortunately, they have elected both a president elect and many incumbents who are the very ones that are responsible for the massive problems that face this nation. It is understandable from one perspective how people are starved for change, however, electing representatives who are the principals that voted for the illegal Iraq war, the repudiation of almost all of our Constitutional rights in the Patriot and Homeland “Security” acts, the offshoring and outsourcing of our jobs, as well as the unimpeded creation and spending of money the country doesn't have and soon to be bankruptcy from it, is not likely to bring about positive change. How can the perpetrators who have dealt a deathblow to America resurrect her when they didn’t have the wisdom to not kill her in the first place? For if they did we, as a nation, would not be a zombie, the walking dead, with the appearance of being vital and healthy. This nation, no matter who has been elected, will incur the karma of being fat, lazy, ignorant and arrogant. Many lives will be ravaged as the result of the actions of our elected officials and the shadowy, surreptitious villains of Wall St, who hide their influence over all of our lives. Each and every one of us must also own our negligence in failing to provide adequate oversight over those entrusted to represent our best interests.

“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty, nor safety.” Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759.

The elected “leaders” of our nation have no real solutions to the challenges that face us, only more lip service to placate those who have chosen ignorance over truth. President elect Obama will have THE toughest task ever to face this nation in restoring faith in government and repudiating the damage that has been done to the Constitution. Will President elect Obama have integrity and forthrightness to right the eggregious harm done to the nation and its citizens? If his past record of voting holds true, I am not optimistic this will occur, but hope springs eternal and I pray that he is a man of rightiousness and honor. I also pray that this election is not the illusion that has held sway over the nation for decades.

As far as the masses are concerned, I have confidence that they will continue to take the “blue pill” until a gargantuan two by four pummels them into the ground, while they cheer on those who are beating them senseless.

As Thomas Jefferson said “The price of Freedom is eternal vigilance.”
