THE ARTIST

In 1989, Judy Tripp began sculpting shore birds and water mammals from the finest domestic and exotic hardwoods. These creations were not intended to be "biologically correct" but crafted with an artistic view to show the natural beauty of both the subject and the grain of the wood.

Judy handcrafts many of natures beautiful creations but has focused her art on birds such as herons and egrets that exhibit the grace and beauty of long necked birds. She has won several awards and exhibited her work at many galleries and museums.

Several years ago, Judy brought her carving talents to creating items of functional value yet maintaining the beauty of handcrafted natural wood in art form. The results were wood utensils each unique with no two being alike. Domestic woods used to create these collectible but usable items are cherry, maple, birch and walnut. Exotic woods used are mahogany, padouk, teak and cocobolo
