Telescope Construction Project
This shows the construction of my 10" f5 Dobsonion telescope.  This was done as a retirement project to keep me busy.  As you can see, it turned out pretty nice.
This view shows the tube with plywood rings installed for strength.  The tube has been painted with a sealer, inside and out.

Here is the completed tube, painted and ready for the hardware.

The base assembly.  Made from two pieces of 3/4 inch plywood.

This is the 'rocker box'.  The tube fits inside the square box, (tightly).  This provides the up/down movement of the scope.  Notice the 'cake pan' bearings, donated by my wife Hazel.

The 10 inch mirror ready to be anchored with silicone adhesive.

April 30, 2009 - New Crayford Focuser ready to be installed.  Replaces the old Rack-and -Pinion.

The completed scope ready for its 'first light'.
