KRD Job Titles:
Non-Union Positions:
Board Member: Must own land in a director division, elected position for 3-year term.
Secretary-Manager: The Secretary position has to be approved by the Bureau of Reclamation. The Manager is appointed annually by the Board. Oversee all District operations, business and personnel. Signatory authority for the District.
Attorney: Appointed annually by the Board.
Office Manager: District treasurer, investments, payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, record keeping, audits, office support, KCWP grant & accounting support.
Lands Clerk: Land segregation specialist, Reclamation Reform Act specialist, record keeping, notary, office support.
Office Clerk: Billings, record keeping, crop census report, insurance specialist, office support.
Field Supervisor: Oversee all field maintenance and shop employees, CDL license required.
GIS Manager: Map making, data management, telemetry support, computer support (hardware & software), KCWP support, NPDES coordinator, District water quality support.
Kittitas County Water Purveyor Director: Write and oversee grants & reports, coordinate TMDL & ESA programs (grant funded), landowner education outreach, KCWP Board directed.
Water Quality Assistant (KCWP funded & directed): water quality support, data management, reports writing.
Temporary Employees: spring (generally March through May) and fall (generally October through December). Valid driver license for operation of district vehicles required, personal vehicle to go to job site in South Cle Elum or Easton may be required.
Union Positions (American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO. Local 792R, Council 2:
Equipment Supervisor: Manage shop, maintain all vehicles, motorized equipment, oversee Easton Dam and Wipple Pumping Plant, record keeping, maintain equipment & materials inventory, welding & fabrication, public pesticide license required, CDL license required.
Group A Employees:
Heavy Equipment Operator: Excavator, backhoe, mower, dump truck, CDL license required.
Maintenance Foreman: Oversee fields crews, public pesticide license required, CDL license required.
Shop Mechanic: maintain all vehicles, welding & fabrication, public pesticide license required, CDL license required.
Special Projects Forman: Manage assigned tasks
Group B Employees:
Light Equipment Operator: forklifts, bobcats, water trucks, spray equipment, cement pump, public pesticide license required, CDL license required.
Assistant Maintenance Foreman: Oversee field crews, public pesticide license required, CDL license required.
Group C Employees:
Maintenance / Laborer: field work, public pesticide license required, CDL license required.
Group E Employees:
Laborer / Helper: assist with field work, public pesticide license required, CDL license required.
Group F Employees:
Ditch Riders / Maintenance: service landowners water needs, record keeping, public pesticide license may be required, CDL license may be required, fall / spring maintenance work.
Group G Employees:
Wipple Pumping Plant Operator: Live on site and maintain plant, ride ditch, fall / spring maintenance work, herbicide applicator license may be required.
Easton Dam Tender: Live on site and maintain dam, ride ditch, fall / spring maintenance work, herbicide applicator license may be required.
Typical maintenance work relating to irrigation ditches: concrete structure construction and concrete liner repair, PVC pipeline installation and repair, broadleaf and aquatic weed control (public pesticide license required), brushing and burning of ditches, operation of power tools including chainsaws, operation of small equipment, dump truck driver (CDL license may be required) and as assigned.
KRD has a six-month probation period for new employees. New hires will be given six months to obtain CDL and / or public pesticide license when required for the job position.
