Hudson Reformed Church-front

The new organ is a complete rebuild of the church's previous instrument. It was originally an early 20th century Moller. Previous work had added some new pipework in the 1960's and a new Austin console in 1990. Most of the pipework and the Austin console were used in the new instrument.

All windchests are new utilizing 1 3/4" solid poplar toeboards and expansion cell electro-mechanical action. Electro-pneumatic action is used for all larger pipe actions.

The organ is installed in chambers to the left and right of the choir area in the front of the room. In the old configuration, the Great and Choir were on the left behind shutters and shared some pipework. The Swell and Pedal were behind shutters on the right. For the new organ, The Great and Pedal are unenclosed on the left and The Swell and now independent Choir are enclosed in individual chambers on the right.

The winchests and all supporting structures were constructed in our shop. All new pipe voicing and revoicing was done in our voicing room and on location.

The chamber grilles were all recovered with new flame-retardant acoustical cloth.
