HAUNTS PUPPET SHOW

The LIONWITCH PUPPET THEATER presents, as one of several productions, a special ecology program for grades K through 6. In the featured story, THE GHOST OF GARBAGE, Delilah Witch inadvertently pollutes a stream. Her mother conjures up a zany ghost to prove to Delilah that thoughtless actions can have unforeseen consequences. The program includes an underwater shadow puppet sequence that illustrates the sad effects of human carelessness. Mixing a modern message with traditional metaphors, the story also makes the statement that how you treat the environment is a moral issue.

In the companion story, The GENIE IN THE LAMP, another disposed-of object brings about unexpected results. While Mother Witch attempts to recycle other items she no longer needs, she absentmindedly throws out a lamp with a dangerous history. The homeless feline who encounters it finds the experience more than a bit enlightening.
