UNITY, MAINE: If you've missed your summer fix of Strawberry-Rhubarb, Triple Apple, or perhaps Wild Maine Blueberry, take heart. Pie Cones™ will again be sold at the Common Ground Country Fair. The fair takes place September 22, 23, 24 in Unity, Maine. At this fair all Pie Cone™ fruit is organically grown in the state of Maine and sweetened with certified organic Maine maple sugar or maple syrup. This year we are pleased to use sugar and syrup from Kinney's Sugarhouse in nearby Knox, Maine. Milk, Cream and Cream cheese ingredients are also certified organic and come from local farms and Organic Valley, a company that uses milk from Maine cows. Originally created for the Common Ground in the early nineties so that fairgoers could enjoy the pie experience without the bother of throwaway paper plates and plastic forks, Pie Cones™ are topped with Organic Valley whipped heavy cream.You can easily walk, talk, and explore the new Common Ground Fairgrounds while savoring this unusual and tasty Maine dessert.
