born 20 April 2000

*Beau, our
stallion, was bred at Tall Trees Curlies, the farm of Bruce and Marlene Tilson, in Bonfield, Ontario. He is the first foal out of *WCC Misty Blue,
ABC-2115 by *WCC Butch Cassidy, ABC-2114. *Beau keeps his tail, and grows
a nice mane for fall and winter; however he has shed it out in the summer.
Over the past winter we decided to try a technique that is described on Denise
Conroy's site "Curly Horse Country" (see Favorite Links) and we have been able
to encourage his mane to grow much longer except for the section that his rubbed
by the neck strap.
*Beau is now 10 and is what we consider to be a "green broke" harness (or driving) horse. He was started by Marcy Baer (a link to her website is on our Favorites page) and we are continuing his work. He is getting better and better between the shafts and we are so pleased! Unfortunately, due to the collapse of our newly built driving arena and then a soft tissue shoulder injury, his driving was curtailed in 2008. Our driving has been more curtailed than we hope, but are still enthused and planning on proceeding.
The highlight of *Beau's driving, so
far, was his participation in September '07 in our daughter, Erica's, wedding.
He was responsible for the safe arrival of her to the wedding site in our
hayfield, driven in an antique cart from France by Chuck. Attendees at the
wedding were awed at the sight!
We have bred *Beau five times. Twice to *Walker, twice to *Glory; and once to *Babe. *Beau adds substance to his foals, a nice head, and a distinctly soft eye with a round pupil as well as that wonderful Curly disposition. *GMC Sierra Verde (*Ra), our first foal, reminds us distinctly of her sire in disposition. She has been sold and now lives with Cathy in Pennsylvania. *GMC Jimmy Dee (*Sage), although built more like his sire, has the quick reflexes of his dam. *Sage now lives with his new family in Maine, and is beginning his show career in Dressage. *GMC Yukon Jack (*Jack), is very much his sire's son, and people oriented just like his mom. *Jack displays a stock horse build, yet has an upward movement more reminiscent of his ancestral Morgans, rather than the Quarter horses that are also in his pedigree. He is my "keeper". *GMC Coyote Bill (*Bill) a 4 year old, is a beautiful buckskin, like his dad, and now lives in mid-Quebec with Veronick, where she is loving working with him. She plans on beginning his show career in Western Pleasure this coming (2010) season. Lastly, we have *GMC Acadia Valentine (*Love), a lovely black nursling filly.
*Beau is offered at stud; presently live cover only. Stud fee: $500; $100 non-refundable booking fee. Live foal guarantee. Mare care: $5 per day. Negative coggins, current shots required.
