Z Silken

Silken is a well trained mare, who is sensitive enough
to have a good, immediate 'take-off' in her cues, yet quiet and attentive enough
to stop on a breath out. She listens to the partner on her back, and tries
her best to do as asked. She easily does W/T/C, side passes, backs,
bathes, loads, and gives her feet. Silken is happy to be working with
someone, or just hanging out being a best buddy. We have decided that it would be best for Silken to
find her special human partner, and so reluctantly are offering her for sale.
After watching her this past year, I feel she would be a lovely mare for an
advanced beginner or intermediate rider. She would be able to do lower
level dressage, English pleasure showing, and some low level jumping. This
summer our French intern, Sophie, spent time riding her (6-7 hours per week) as
well as jumping her over cross-rails and verticals. She found her to be
very forward and excited about jumping, yet she tended to rush them, so would
need more training. Because we feel strongly that she needs someone for
whom she will be THE horse, we are requiring that interested parties come and
visit. Long-distance, internet-only sales will not be entertained. If you are interested in her, please feel free to
email, or call us, for more information. Asking:
Z Silken was born on the farm of Andrea and John Schaap
in Englehart, Ontario, Canada. Her dam was *LS Babe (NACHR 762-D) and she
was sired by *Zorro (ABC 1425). Although both her parents display a curly
coat, Silken did not seem to inherit it; however, she is definitely
hypo-allergenic to me! A beautiful shade of Liver Chestnut, Silken is
kind, sweet, and sensitive. We purchased her in the summer of 2007 with
the intention of having her help get our training stable off the ground.
When those plans changed, she remained, and has grown even more attentive and
demonstrative with us.
