A Little Bit About Us

yellow stripe 2The seed for Weeping Duck Farm was sowed in 1997 when tired of the corporate rat race, tired of the nondescript suburban experience, sobered by the warning of the death in a 6 month period of two family members, one of them very premature, Ana and Roy moved into what had been a dairy farm where the cows who had lived there, had names, not numbers, had been milked by hand, not machine.   It was the answer to our quest for a sane, mindful and satisfying life in a natural environment. A place where we could give expression to our ideals of sustainability, self–sufficiency, strong community and responsible, loving stewardship of our only Earth and all its living creatures, without exception.

Although we scarcely knew what a tree looked like when we arrived — both of us being city slickers born and raised — we now feed ourselves largely from what our garden produces. We have learned many new skills, and some of these skills turned into products which we sell at Farmers' Markets.  All the items we offer for sale we also use in our own home, including — of course —  the food items.Hand and plume05
