The black Oldenburg stallion, Rubinero, is a son of the famous Westphalian Oldenburger, Rubenstein I. Rubenstein I is a descendent of perhaps the most renowned dressage line of the last century. He is the son of Westphaiian stallion Rosenkavalier and a grandson of Romadour II. His dam was Antine B, a full sister to Dr Reiner Klimke's international dressage horse Ahlerich 2 and Amon, campaigned by Annemarie Sanders-Keyzer of the Netherlands. Antine B later produced Rubenstein II and Rubenstein III.
Rubinero's dam line is equally impressive. His dam, Faola, participated in the Hanoverian jumper program and passed her performance test at Verden, exhibiting talent in both dressage and jumping, receiving a 9 for willingness to perform, canter and free jumping technique and a 10 for free jumping ability. Faola's sire is Ex Libris, a respected sire of both dressage and jumper sporthorses.
