Bandelier was sired by the Oldenburg stallion, Magic Ronaldo, on a dressage-type mare at Zephyr Farm. Bandelier is the youngest of the 2006 foal crop. This fellow now stands about 16.3h and has the movement to be a superb dressage mount.
Magic Ronaldo was the
champion of the stallion selection trials in 1997 and has achieved
renown for his dressage talents throughout Europe, competing at Prix
St. George and Intermediare levels since 2003. In addition to his
dressage career, Magic Ronaldo has developed a reputation as a breeding
stallion. His offspring have been eagerly sought by dressage training
stables in Europe. Foals by Magic Ronaldo were sold for the highest
prices at auctions in Drachten and Weert in 2001. In 2003, a stallion
foal by Magic Ronaldo broke the sale price record in Holland.
