This tall long-legged mare looks just like her keur dam Mondria SHB, who had foals invited to select sales in Holland before we imported her to the US. Mondria's sire, VDL Goodtimes, won his stallion performance test with scores of 9 for jumping under saddle, cross country, temperament, character, and stable behavior. Canter and freejumping were 8's; and 7.5's were awarded for walk and trot. He has produced many successful offspring in both jumping and dressage. Dressage horse Lucky Times with Anne van Uytert won the PAVO cup at both age 4 and 5. Grand Prix showjumpers Gabanta under Henk van de Broek, Kris Kentaur under Piet Raymakers, Hildon Cacharel under Samantha McIntosh, Londtimes under Kevin Olsmeijer. Goodtimes has several approved sons and is the #2 producer of star and keur mares in Holland. His breeding index is Jumping 132, Dressage 115.
Willow's sire, San Remo, is a young, newly approved black KWPN stallion with Hannoverian breeding, also licensed Hannoverian. The KWPN performance test jury described San Remo as "A stallion with a good appearance and fine balance that can change gear very well. As a dressage horse San Remo shows a lot of talent and gives his rider a very good feeling". As a 4-y.o., he was selected for the PAVO Competition, and finished 5th, ridden by Olympian Edward Gal. In 2004, he competed at the World Championship for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, again ridden by Edward Gal, and finished 16th out of 42. He is the son of the very promising dressage progenitor Wolkentanz I, who is considered to be perhaps the best Weltmeyer son used for breeding. In Germany, San Remo finished fourth at his Verden Stallion Selection in 2001. His dam, SPS Valente, also produced the licensed Hannoverian stallion Welgeist, who set the record sale price mark in 1995 at the famous PSI Sale. Valente's sire, Volturno, was an international eventer for many years.
Willow is training as a jumper with Jennifer Hansen at Starfire Farm in Lakewood, Washington. Look for her at regional competitions during the 2007 season.
